Apply for Help

If you are or know a former foster youth in need of support, you'll find help here.

Starting out on your own can be overwhelming. But you’re not alone.

If you’re close to aging out of foster care in Tennessee — or if you’ve already turned 18 — I AM NEXT is your support system. If you were in extended foster care and left once you turned 21, you’re still eligible to apply.

The process is simple, and we’ll help you every step of the way.

The services I AM NEXT provides — from housing resources to job and career training — can make a real difference as young people build a foundation for a strong, stable future.

But we know we can’t address every need.

There are a range of resources available here in Tennessee and across the United States to support the social, emotional, financial, and practical aspects of transitioning to adulthood. Our team collected a list of organizations and options we recommend.
