Housing Support

It starts with a safe, quality, stable place to call home.

Home isn’t just a space. It’s a stabilizing force — a foundation that supports hopes, dreams, goals, and plans. It’s where find ourselves and build a future. Home empowers us to shift focus from surviving to thriving. It lets us grow, at our own pace, into independence and autonomy.

So providing a home is where I Am Next begins.

All a foster kid needs is somebody to genuinely just stay. Stay and give them something that's good for them. Stay and give them something that actually brings them benefit, not just keeps them here another day.

How to Apply for Housing

Supported Independent Living

Young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 who are currently enrolled in the Extension of Foster Care program are eligible.

If you’re within this age range but not yet enrolled, we encourage you to fill out an application for I Am Next services, and we’ll gladly assist you with the Extension of Foster Care enrollment process.

Permanent Supportive Housing

The referral process for our permanent housing involves Nashville’s Coordinated Entry system, a process designed by the city’s Office of Homeless Services to identify, assess, and connect people in need to housing and assistance.

I Am Next will guide each applicant through the process. Contact us to get started.

You don't have to do it alone.

We’re here. We can help you find what’s next.
